When Boundless CEO Andy Dearing moved his company’s headquarters to St. Louis in November 2017, his goal was to be part of a region that is home to a strong and growing geospatial community. “Some of the reasons for moving our five-year-old company are unique to our business, but others reflect St. Louis’ surprising uptick in entrepreneurial activity,” wrote Dearing of the decision in an article for Venturebeat.
On October 26, Boundless’ commitment to the St. Louis business community was recognized with a 2018 Innovation Award at the Mayor’s Business Celebration Luncheon. The office of Mayor Lyda Krewson chose to honor Boundless based on the company’s significant contribution to establishing St. Louis as a startup hub. This honor underscores Boundless’ rising presence in the city’s tech scene, and follows recent inclusion on Tech Tribune’s list of Best Tech Startups in St. Louis.
With company headquarters in St. Louis, Boundless enjoys the benefit of proximity to its customers the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), the primary source of geospatial intelligence for the U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Intelligence Community; and Monsanto, the global agrochemical and agricultural biotechnology firm. The greater St. Louis area, while home to a number of old-guard companies like Purina and Emerson Electric, is gaining significant ground as an entrepreneurial hub, and has generated among the highest nationwide increase in the number of startups less than a year old.
Boundless is proud to be part of St. Louis’ thriving technology and startup scene, and shares this honor with everyone who contributes to developing our solutions, serving our diverse customers, sharing enthusiasm for geospatial technology, and making Boundless a rewarding place to work!
