Certification

Boundless offers a GeoServer certification exam for those proficient deploying, securing, configuring and managing a production instance. Those interested in certification are encouraged to take GeoServer Fundamentals either as an online, or an on-site course before taking our certification exam.

All Boundless courses are eligible for GISP certification credit through the GIS Certification Institute. After completing a course please contact GISCI with proof of participation to receive credit.

OpenGeo Suite for Geospatial Administrators

OpenGeo Suite: GeoServer I (Certification Available)

Description

OpenGeo Suite: GeoServer I course offers newcomers to GeoServer a thorough look at the core functionality of the application. By the end of this course, students will be able to deploy, configure and manage a GeoServer instance in production.

The course is divided into seven modules, the first two of which introduce GIS, spatial concepts and the standard protocols GeoServer uses to communicate with clients.

The remaining five modules each cover different aspects of GeoServer: publishing data; administration and security; data management tools; tile caching with GeoWebCache and production deployments.

A certification exam will be available upon completion of the course.

Length

Four days. Each module takes half a day. The final half day is comprised of review, questions and the certification exam.

QGIS for OpenGeo Suite

Introduction to QGIS

Description

This half-day workshop is an introduction to performing spatial analysis using QGIS, a desktop GIS tool and a component of OpenGeo Suite supported by Boundless. Attendees will be introduced to the field calculator, the processing toolbox, running processes and building processing models. The data will all be from original, freely-available sources and will be prepared for processing by the students during the workshop.
